Thursday The DAY!

7/7/2011 has passed but still there's no sign from you yet..your mom said that you must be very happy staying inside her hehehe. Doctor gave us another 7 days and if there's still no sign then I need to take her to the hospital on the 14th (This Thursday!) to avoid any complications to you and your mom. Your mom just called and she was on her way to the clinic with Tok Nan to get some medical treatment for the rashes and itchiness that's now bothering her..As for me, I'm recovering from flu and cough and hopefully by that time I can hold you in my arm without having to worry that I might infect you with my flu..Everybody's ready to see you my dear son.. :-)

Kuih Raya Online & Baby

About 22 days to go and I'm so excited to hold you in my arms my dear son. Mummy are getting anxious and scared at the same time but daddy will always be by her side and telling her that everything's going to be O.K and the thoughts of holding you in our arms made her calm. Her back pain and gastric has gotten worse but not too serious Alhamdulillah and last Monday's checkup gone well and we're just counting days. To get my mind off this a little bit, Daddy now started a small business with your Uncle Alan selling Kuih Raya for this upcoming Hari Raya. So for those reading this post and interested in buying some Hari Raya cookies (although it's still early hehe) you can swing by to my website at www.kuihrayaonline.net and reserve your cookies :-)

So, everything's ready hopefully we didn't left anything out. This saturday, mummy and daddy will go to the hospital just to have an idea on where exactly to go when the time comes. Everybody is looking forward to see you... :-)

50 days to go!

50 days to go...Daddy and Mummy can't wait to see you..preparation is almost at 95% done...last weekend daddy and mummy went and bought you a cot, bather and also a couple of other things..We're now preparing mommy's emergency travel bag..This weekend we'll be bringing back your cot to your 'atuk' and 'nenek' (haven't figured out what Atuk and Nenek wants to be called..let's stick to 'atuk' and 'nenek' for now shall we :-D ) place and Atuk will give your cot a finishing touch by painting it white like your mom's favorite color. Last Monday's checkup was great and your mom's doing very well except that her gastric problem has come back which is normal for her stage now. Your in a good position and actively kicking and tickling mommy every now and then..mummy can't stand it at times as it makes her want to go to the toilet every time you did that LOL..

So..50 days to go..mommy and daddy will start preparing mentally as well..hopefully the whole process will go on smoothly and safely..InsyaAllah..Can't wait to see you my boy.. :-*

Gynea Visit 006 - It's getting closer and closer

It's getting closer and closer (Less than 100 days to go!) and Daddy and Mummy can't wait to see you..I'ts been a while since the last gynea visit and in between that actually mummy has gone to 3 different checkups. This time we decided not to go to Gombak Medical Centre anymore as we find it quite expensive, instead we went to mummy's other gynea panel near our new house which is cheaper and friendlier. At the same time mummy has started to go to local government clinic with her best friend Aunty Amy who's also about 1 month behind mummy. So there you go, she's going to be your new friend :-) So far, Alhamdulillah, mummy went through all the checkup and she's doing quite well and you too! Preparation is going well and we have bought a lot of stuff for you..

Stainless Steel OrganicKidz Bottle - Cool eh!

Stainless Steel OrganicKidz Bottle - All the way from US!
For those interested for the OrganicKidz bottle you can get it HERE online. It's really cool BPA Free bottle, not too heavy except for the tiny little problem of measuring the water level (There's an level indicator *inside* the bottle and also the lid doubles as a built in 2oz/60mL measuring cup). Next up, daddy's going to order a couple more stuffs for you and Aunt Farah will bring it back for us when she comes back from US in a month's time. This week mummy and daddy plan to look around for your crib, guess what color it would be? Yes, White..like everything else in our room..your mummy really loves white color.

Last weekend, mummy and daddy was given a sad news by a good friend of daddy, Uncle Sabre. They lost their baby due to miscarriage and the sad part is that it's their first baby girl which is due just next month. We went to PPUM and visit them with Uncle Megat and Aunt Mar. After that we went to A&W for dinner together as it's been a while since we last met Aunt Mar and Megat Amsyar (your soon to be friend :-) ).

Gynea Visit 005 - Kick..kick..kick

Daddy's Back!! I'm sorry for the late post..Daddy was a little bit busy after the trip to Indonesia with mummy, Tok Nan, Tok Ma, and your two uncle. Hmmm...where do I start...aaa...ok..let's start with Monday 2 weeks ago when we went for an earlier checkup due to the upcoming trip later that week. We're both very happy to get to see you again, and it's all worth it when we saw you there moving around happilly and the best part is...I swear that I saw you "waving" at us that day, you're so cute! :-D Doctor confirms again that you're a BOY and that makes mummy happy for the reason that she'll now have a piece of mind on what to buy for you in Bandung hehe..

Jogjakarta->Bandung->Jakarta was a tiring but exciting experience because it's the first time we got to travel in a train to Bandung from Jogja and also shopping for your baby stuffs. We bought a lot of cute things for you and even at the time I am writing this..we're discussing on getting you a stroller for babies from UK, Auntie Puya will bring it back for you. Luckily we didn't "borong" the whole Bandung for you LOL. Mummy was very strong along the journey and I hope that you will too grow stronger and healthier.

The last couple of days was one of the happiest days in our parenting calendar as mummy started to feel you moving around in her and kicking her. It was Wednesday midnight (09/03/2011) when we both just about to sleep when you first kick. Now, every single time mummy said that you kicked..Daddy will quickly put Daddy's hand on mummy's belly in hope to catch your movements..but sadly I can't feel it yet..probably you're still too small and the movements could only be felt by mummy. It's alright, Daddy will wait for that day to come :-)

As agreed with the baby's mother, who prefers to have her identity kept confidential, my son will be under my exclusive guardianship. 2. Sir Elton John and David Furnish

And, if I don't want to get him papp'd then I can't talk about him. I'm so sorry. Thanks for understanding."

Gynea Visit 004 - It's a Boy!

I See You! :-)

It's a boy! One day you'll understands how daddy and mummy's feelings whenever we got to see you on that black and white screen ( and sometimes yellowish screen they called '4D'). I know it's a bit late for this post to come up as daddy was a bit busy last week. Last Monday mummy perform her latest and first checkup at the local community clinic (just in case that we decided to bring you into this world at our local government hospital) and it went fine. A few days later on Wednesday we went to the regular Gombak Medical Centre to check on you and see you and hoping that we can see whether your a boy or a girl hehe. This is important as Mummy's really excited for the upcoming trip to Yogjakarta-Bandung-Jakarta trip next month..Yeah! we're taking you for a holiday/shopping trip next month with Tok Ma, Tok Nan, and your two uncle! Mummy wants to buy you lots of beautiful clothes (and Daddy will pay for it of course) hence the reason to check for your gender. As soon as the screen turned on..there you are..moving around in mummy's tummy..you've grown up bigger and now daddy can see you clearly and I can't describe how I was feeling at that time..The doctor let us listen to your heartbeats and it was magnificent..and finally the doctor let us know the greatest news of all..you're a boy! That brings daddy back to the night before where I talked to you and 'pujuk' you to 'reveal' it to us tomorrow hehe and you did show it to us. Last visit to the gynea you hid it from us..mummy said "He's probably too shy to show it to us :-) "

You're getting heavier i guess..mummy starts having back pain and every night daddy would massage her back and also make her a warm milk to give you all the nutrients that you need. Good thing that she's not having the gastric and constant vomiting anymore, it's now I guess just the getting used to the extra weight hence the back pain. So, I guess daddy will be seeing you again next month hopefully and at the mean time, don't be naughty inside there, grow up healthy, and daddy and mummy loves you!

'Supernatural' link in child's disappearance

By Asia News Network

Kuala Lumpur (The Star/ANN) - The family of a toddler, who went missing for about 18 hours in Malaysia, believes there could be a supernatural factor behind her disappearance, Malaysian newspaper Harian Metro reports.

Abdul Wahid Nordin, 52, who is the girl's grandfather, said: "It is just not logical for a 22-month-old child to have been able to walk barefoot for almost 3km in the jungle."

He said the family of Nor Aishah Umairah Zamzanuri was relieved that she was safe after being found by two orang asli at a rubber estate near Slim River, Perak, on Wednesday morning.

Except for some scratches on her leg and mosquito bite marks on her body, the girl is in good health.

A 70-member search-and-rescue team had earlier failed to find her.

Southwest Pilot Holds Plane in a Bold Act Of Kindness

Today, I read an article about a pilot from Southwest Airline who holds a plane to wait for a grieving grandfather whose on his way to say his last farewell to his murdered grandson. I totally have the utmost respect for the guy for holding the flight which in a way can jeopardize his career and his airline company. In his act of courage, the grandfather manage to make it in time for the flight..Read on
By William Lee Adams of TIME Magazine

The most important trips aren’t about getting somewhere. They’re about getting to someone. (via Elliott.org)

But in an age of mounting airline fees, reduced in-flight services, uncomfortable security pat-downs and multi-day delays caused by erupting volcanoes, it’s easy to forget that.

Amid the cries of “I’ve already paid for my hotel!” and “You need to get me to Atlanta!” anger and inconvenience frequently blind us to the fact that travel is ultimately about people. We also forget that airline employees—bound by big company rules and regulations—get frustrated, too.

Gynea Visit 003 - My Child Is a Future F1 Driver

Dear 'Anakku',

Yesterday was one of those days where daddy and mummy's heartbeats will skyrocket to the roof. Why? It's because we get to see you and see how are you doing, we're so worried and anxious to know if you're OK, how much have you grown up, to see you in action. Guess what? It's either you want to be a F1 driver when you grow up or like what mummy said to daddy after the checkup "Daddy! I think you better start saving now for a CAR" LOL. Well I can assure you that at least you'll be getting (baby) bucket seat for now :-D . You we're in a position where you looked like you're driving a car and it was funny and touching at the same time. You we're moving around in your mummy's tummy but you didn't face us (shy eh?) :-P . You've grown twice bigger than we last saw you, now at 6.++ cm we almost can tell whether you're a boy or a girl. Be it you're a boy or a girl, we will flourish you will all our love and tenderness, we will gave you proper education, teach you on religion, and hopefully you'll turn into a fine person one day. So, Daddy will see you in a month's time, and at the same time, grow up fast and healthy and don't give you mummy a hard time OK? :-)

Love,

Daddy

Sex During Pregnancy - Is it safe?

I stumbled upon this OLD article titled 'Sex During Pregnancy' when I was browsing around reading articles. It catches my attentions as I found it very common questions asked by expecting parents (Even I do asked my self this question :P ) For those interested to know..read on..
CAN I have sex when I’m pregnant? This is a common question that I get from my patients, particularly couples who are having their first child.

Most of them wonder if it is safe to continue having sex, even up to the third trimester. There are also other couples who have real cause for concern if their pregnancy has some challenges, such as bleeding in early pregnancy or a history of miscarriage.

Usually, it is the husband who prompts his wife to bring up the subject, and she will shyly or sheepishly ask me about it. While I can understand their embarrassment, I find it ironic that sex should be considered such a taboo subject during pregnancy. After all, the miracle of pregnancy starts with the act of sex (medical interventions like IVF notwithstanding)!

The apprehension towards sex in pregnancy may stem partly from the belief that pregnant women have to be treated like fragile flowers in bloom; not to be handled roughly or put through strenuous activities like work or?sex.

Is this true? Let’s take a look.

One-third of 9-month-olds already obese or overweight

The path toward obesity starts at a young age — even before babies transition to a solid diet, according to a new study.

Almost one-third of 9-month-olds are obese or overweight, as are 34 percent of 2-year-olds, according to the research, which looked at a nationally representative sample of children born in 2001. The study is one of the first to measure weight in the same group of very young children over time, said lead researcher Brian Moss, a sociologist at Wayne State University in Detroit. The results showed that starting out heavy puts kids on a trajectory to stay that way.
